1/30 MS Physics update and homework due 2/6

Hi folks,

Today we dove deeper into our strange new world of energy by taking about how energy can change forms (heat, sound, electricity, nuclear) and by discovering what work is by pushing my car.

For homework this week read the chapter "Defining Energy" in the Bite-Size Physics book and do the 10 questions at the end of the chapter.

Also, answer the following questions.

1. In class, I went over a several step scenario where energy changed forms from one to another. Create a similar scenario of your own that includes at least 6 steps. Some steps will have to be the same (E.G. you must have the Sun in there) but try to do something different than the one I did in class. Pictures are welcome! :)

2. Eat a sandwich. Tell me the path that energy followed for all the ingredients of the sandwich to your stomach. See if you can get a nice coigeepishicken sandwich. :)

3. Fill in the blanks with the following words: energy, force, work, distance, eating

Today I pushed a car. When I pushed the car ________________ that I got from __________________ was used to do ____________ on the car. To find how

much work I did on the car we multiplied my ______________by the amount of ________________that I pushed the car.
